- Completing most Bilge Rat Commendations
- Completing weekly test initiatives for the Insider Programme
- Completing certain Daily Deeds
- Leveling up through seasonal progression
- Selling specific treasure items to the Bilge Rats or

- Rag & Bone Crate for 5
- Ashen Chest for 5
- Ashen Key for 5
- Ashen Tomes for 10
- Humble Gift only to the Reaper's Bones for 5

Bilge Rat Doubloons can be used in the following ways:
- Purchasing specific cosmetics from outpost shops
- Purchasing certain Bilge Rat voyages from Larinna outside every outpost tavern
- Purchasing certain voyages from Shipwright Shop at every outpost dock
