The Blunderbuss is a powerful firearm weapon in Sea of Thieves.
Usage[]
The Blunderbuss is a close-range Shotgun type firearm that fires a spread of 10 pellets with each shot. The Blunderbuss has a total of 5 shots before it has to be fully reloaded at an Ammo Chest or Ammo Pouch. The Blunderbuss is the most effective when aimed down the sights and fired at very close range, where targets will be struck with multiple pellets. Aiming the Blunderbuss will concentrate all the pellets to a central point, where-as firing it from the hip causes the pellets to spread in a wide cone. A point-blank shot from the Blunderbuss can be enough to kill a player at full health should all pellets hit. This makes it an incredibly effective weapon in close-combat. However, the damage of the Blunderbuss can be inconsistent and suffers from significant fall-off at range as less pellets are likely to hit the target, often losing out to the Flintlock and Eye of Reach if the user cannot close the gap. Regular, Bounty Voyage, or Fortress Skeletons take just one point-blank shots to kill, with all pellets hitting, while Athena's Fortune Voyage Skeletons take 2-3 shots. It takes 3 point-blank shots to destroy a Sapphire Cursed Mermaid Statue.
