Events are various Competitions or Initiatives hosted by Rare Ltd and tracked through the Sea of Thieves website. These events usually reward Players with various bonuses, like double Gold, Doubloon and additional Reputation, or task them with completing various in-game tasks to receive rewards like unique Voyages, Cosmetics or additional Currencies.

Events and their progress can be viewed and tracked from the Events Menu in-game or at the Event Hub on the official website.

This weekend, earn double gold and reputation and boosted Renown in our Gold & Glory Weekend!

Regular Events

Daily Deeds

Daily Deeds (previously called Daily Bounties) are daily challenges or tasks that reward Players with a handful of extra Gold or Doubloons. These Bounties can range from interactions with Player Pirates to selling specific Treasure or completing different Encounters.

This weekend you will earn double the usual gold and reputation rewards thanks to a Gold and Glory weekend! Fame and fortune await on the seas.

Gold Rush

Gold Rush is a one hour event active twice daily (17.00 - 18.00 UTC & 01.00 - 02.00 UTC), where Crews can receive a 1.5x multiplier for the rewards of any sold Treasure.

Previous Events

2021

A 1 week long Event to celebrate Thanksgiving where players could complete goals from sets of challegens to earn parts of the Feast of Bounty Set as well as the Bounty Bringer Title. The Overindulgence long term goal was in place too where players would need to eat Cooked Meat and Fish 75 times.

The Fury of the Damned Event is the 2021 Halloween Event, giving players challenges to reach Favour goals with the Bilge Rats to earn parts of the Wicked Web Set as well as the Destroyer of the Damned Title. A community goal is in place too, encouraging players to defeat Skeletons to earn the Wicked Web Figurehead and Wicked Web Collector's Figurehead.

A two-week long event that tasks players to deal with marine threats by completing challenges and selling Mermaid Gems and Siren Gems to earn Exclusive Cosmetics.
A two-week long event to celebrate Gamescom, allowing players a chance to earn the time-limited Mayhem Ship Set through completing challenges to earn Bilge Rats' Favour.
  • Gold & Glory (August 20th 10:00 – August 23rd 23:59 UTC, 2021)
This weekend you will earn double the usual gold and reputation rewards thanks to a Gold and Glory weekend! Fame and fortune await on the seas.
A Player Alliance themed event tasking players to tackle a wide range of threats or complete certain actions to gain Favour with the Bilge Rats. Doing so will earn players the Flags of Friendship Scar, Flags of Friendship Makeup, Flags of Friendship Tattoo and Friend of the Sea Title. A special Pirate Philanthropist Title is available for leaving 100 pieces of treasure aboard another crew's ship.
An event themed around the Reaper's Bones and Trading Company Emissaries. Each week challenges focused around a specific Trading Company unlock, as well as long term goals for handing in Broken Emissary Flags to the Reaper's Bones. Doing so will award players with Items themed around each Trading Company.
A Gold Hoarders themed event tasking players to collect certain types of chests or complete certain actions to gain Favour with the Trading Company. Doing so will earn player's Gold Hoarders Cutlass, Pistol, Eye of Reach, Blunderbuss, and a special Invader of Glittering Vaults Title.
Gold & Glory is an event during which gold, reputation and renown are doubled.
A fishing themed event from The Hunter's Call tasking players to catch a wide range of Fish. Players can earn Fishing Rods from the Gold Hoarders Set, Order of Souls Set, Merchant Alliance Set, and Frostbite Set. Completing Challenges will also reward special Titles.
A new Order of Souls themed event tasking players to take on Ashen Lords, Ashen Guardians, Key Masters, Skeleton Lords, Ghost Ships, and more to earn Soul Fragments which reward Order of Souls weapons.

2020

  • Grogmanay (December 30th 2020 - January 20th 2021)
Grogmanay provides players with 6 "explosive" Goals to complete that reward unique Cosmetics to celebrate the New Year.

The 12 Deeds of Giving is the 2020 Holiday Event, giving Players and Crews daily challenges and goals to complete in return for Eastern Winds Jade Set Equipment Cosmetics and a unique Title.
Plundered Presents takes place every day during the Festival of Giving (2020) update, during which 5 of your treasure items will give you 5,000 Gold when turned in by another Crew.
The Fate of the Damned Event is the 2020 Halloween Event, giving Players and Crews weekly challenges and goals to complete in return for Soulflame Set Cosmetics and unique Titles.
Stronghold Sharefest takes place every day during the Fate of the Damned Event, during which 3 of your Stronghold level items will give you 5,000 Gold when turned in by another Crew.

Fort Nights take place every Friday night, during which, Crews receive a x3 multiplier for any sold Stronghold items (Stronghold Chest, Stronghold Skull, Crate of Ancient Bone Dust, Stronghold Gunpowder Barrel).
Reaper's vs Hoarders is a weekly Event active every Friday, where Gold Hoarders Emissaries receive extra Gold for any sold Treasure and Reaper's Bones Emissaries get extra Gold for Gold Hoarders Emissary Flags.
Summer of Sea of Thieves is a special summer event with a large collection of challenges to attempt which will reward you with Titles, Doubloons, cosmetics and gold.

Wreck and Roll offered double rewards for selling Shipwrecked Chests and Wreckers on Thursdays.
The Hunters of the Deep event tasked players to complete goals and collect Shark Teeth in order to earn pieces of the Shrouded Ghost Hunter Set.
Players could complete five goals that honour video games from Rare Ltd's past. Completing each challenge grants gold and Doubloons. Completing all five goals rewards the Rare Legend Figurehead.
Held during Ashen Winds, Skull Sweep was active every Wednesday, during which Crews could earn more Reputation and Gold for selling Order of Souls related Treasure.
Held during the Haunted Shores Content Update, Ashen Expeditions was active every Tuesday, during which, Crews received double Gold for any sold Devil's Roar Treasure.
This event provided boosted Reputation and Gold for any sold Megalodon and Shark Meat.
This event had players cash in 30 Treasure to specific Companies in exchange for Blighted Set Ship Cosmetics before they headed to the Pirate Emporium.
This one-week event had players complete three Tall Tales for Rising Morningstar Set Cosmetics.
  • Steam Launch Celebration (June 3rd - June 17th
To celebrate the launch of Sea of Thieves' on Steam, Players could earn daily rewards via Twitch Drops for watching Partnered Streamers for at least 30 minutes or until they completed a Daily Bounty. The rewards were Mutinous Fist Set, Onyx Four Pack, and Emporium exclusive Emote Cosmetics.
Held during Lost Treasures, Fort Nights was active every Friday night, during which, Crews received a x3 multiplier for any sold Stronghold items (Stronghold Chest, Stronghold Skull, Crate of Ancient Bone Dust, Stronghold Gunpowder Barrel).
The second instance of this event had a single challenge of catching and selling 300 Ruby Splashtails for a reward of 150 Ancient Coins.
This two-week Event tasked players with completing challenges for the Reaper's Bones to earn four new Reaper's Bones Set Emotes.
This event tasked Players to complete various challenges in the Arena, rewarding them with Courage Set Cosmetics.

  • Second Anniversary (March 19th - April 9th)
To celebrate two years since Sea of Thieve's release, Players were given the opportunity to perform tasks relating to previous Content Updates from its first year, and be rewarded with time-limited cosmetics previously exclusive to those updates.
This event offered daily tasks related to The Hungering Deep with the final reward being 15000 Gold and a re-release of the Drum of the Deep.
This event offered daily tasks related to Cursed Sails with the final reward being 15000 Gold and a re-release of the Bone Crusher Sails.
This event offered daily tasks related to Forsaken Shores with the final reward being 15000 Gold and a re-release of the Forsaken Ashes Cutlass.
The Hunter's Haul tasked players to complete various challenges for The Hunter's Call to earn Doubloons and the Gold Hauler Figurehead.

2019

This event acted as an "advent calendar" for Sea of Thieves, rewarding players with daily Voyages, Cosmetics or Currencies and bonus reward multipliers for logging in.
