The Morningstar Chest is one of the Container Chests in Sea of Thieves. The Morningstar Chest functions identically to other Collector's Chests, providing mainly a unique name. The Chest is acquired as a part of the Revenge of the Morningstar Tall Tale and already has hidden Quest Items Inside.

Where to find[]

The Morningstar Chest can be found exclusively during the following Tall Tales:

Revenge of the Morningstar: After receiving Morningstarship logs,, the location of the Chest is documented in the Tale Book. The Chest can be found buried at Boulder Cay in the The Shores of Plenty.

As these Chests are Quest Items, they are found with other Quest Items already inside.

The Revenge of the Morningstar Tall Tale Chest initially contains additional Tale Book pages and the Morningstar Uniform.

Can be used to carry and transport smaller Treasure Items.
The empty Morningstar Chest can be sold to any of Trading Companies for 250 - 520 , but no Reputation or Emissary Value.
The Morningstar Chest can be kept by Players even after finishing the related Tall Tales.
The empty Morningstar Chest can store up to three smaller Treasure Items, such as Trinkets, Bounty Skulls, Mermaid Gems or Dark Relics.
The empty Morningstar Chest can also store most Tall Tale Quest Items.
The Morningstar Chest hides the glow and quells the sounds of the Treasure Items inside, however the Chest itself can be seen from far away by a white glint typical to Treasure Chests.
Container Chests are usually used to transport three smaller Treasure Items at one time to save time on turning in.
The Pirate Chat Wheel Commands of this chest are similar to other Container Chests

- Players will no longer be able to delete items that are placed inside the Morningstar Chest while holding another Captain's Logbook.

2.4.1 (January 20, 2022)
- Taking items from a Morningstar Chest while holding a Map Bundle should no longer cause the items to disappear.
