The Sailor Compass is an Equipment item that allows the player to determine the direction they are facing. It is the most basic Compass, which all new players are equipped with by default.
A Compass can also be used to count "paces", which some Maps require. While holding a Compass, a player can hold the "use" key/button (PC: left-click) and walk forward, which produces slow, clear bobbing footsteps that can be counted easily to determine pace distance.
