Season 13 is the thirteenth season in Sea of Thieves. It began on July 25, 2024.

Trials[]
In addition to regularly earned Renown, the Season 13 Trials offer an additional boost of Renown.
Plunder Pass[]
Purchasing the Plunder Pass will grant players access to Pirate Emporium items and additional Ancient Coins as Season Rewards. These cosmetic items are early-access items that will be released at a later date after the Season ends.

New World Event[]
- The Burning Blade
- Flameheart's newly rebuilt flagship will sail around the map, the NPC skeleton crew attacking players that come near. Once defeated, you will have the option to take over the ship, including unique voyages for assisting Flameheart. Taking over the ship effectively allows you to become a world event yourself.
- Will have 10 cannons along with a front facing double fire-ball launcher activated via a lever. Has 4 ladders and is large enough to fit 7 sails across 3 masts, and even an entire room with an altar dedicated to Flameheart.
- An NPC skeleton crew will assist the crew if the ship is taken. They will be able to attack boarders, repair, and fire cannons. The amount of skeletons will scale depending on the size of the crew on-board.
Map Changes[]
- Reaper's Bones Dig Sites
- Several islands will be taken over by the Reaper's Bones, excavated for mysterious artifacts. NPC skeletons will guard the sites.
- Can be attacked and looted, or peacefully entered if captaining the Burning Blade.

Treasure and Voyages[]
- Unique voyage involving the Burning Blade.
- There will be a voyage accessible while captaining the Burning Blade that take you to the Reaper's Bones dig sites to gather Orbs of Secrets in order to advance Flameheart's plans.
- Orb of Secrets (Treasure)
- Obtained through the unique voyage, these orbs will add "tribute" to Burning Blade, which will increase the value of the Burning Blade in some way.
- The orbs themselves are very mysterious, but they seem to be valuable and significant in the lore.

Ashen Expeditions (2024)[]

The Devil's Roar has become mysteriously silent, and Ashen Messages in bottles are ready for crews to discover. Pirates who complete enough Ashen Messages in bottle quests will get a new sword!
Outpost Cosmetics[]

NEW OUTPOST STOCK!
- Outpost clothing shops have received a shipment of brand new items and now offer the Proud Plume clothing set, available for gold.
- The Cephalopod Courtly Jacket, Whalebone Tattoo and Tentacled Terror Tattoo are all available from the Outpost clothing shops for those with enough gold to spare.
- Outpost weapon shops now carry a range of armaments from the hand-carved Carpenter's weapon set.
- Outpost weapon shops also stock a selection of heavy swords and rapiers from the Kraken, Inky Kraken and Venomous Kraken sets, locked behind their associated Commendations.
NEW THROWING KNIVES
- The Outpost weaponsmiths now stock a choice of new throwing knives, all locked behind lofty accomplishments.
- The Cartographer Throwing Knives are unlocked upon completion of the Triple Threat Thrower Commendation, the Guardians of Fortune Throwing Knives unlock at Allegiance level 50 with the Guardians of Fortune, and the Servants of the Flame Throwing Knives unlock at Allegiance level 50 with the Servants of the Flame.
SEASON SIX LEGACY COSMETICS
- Cosmetics previously available during Season Six have arrived in Outpost shops and can now be yours in exchange for Doubloons!
- Players can now purchase the Naval Commander clothing set, along with a range of unique one-off items that were available during this Season. Pirate Legends can also pick up Belle's Hat and Stranger's Cutlass.
- The time-limited Dark Relics items, however, remain exclusive to players who participated in Season Six.

The Orb returned in Season Ten and brought with it regularly updated riddles teasing the ongoing changes to the Sea of Thieves and the characters that call it home. These teases continued throughout Season 11 and Season 12, with many of them pointing to the islands expected to become dig sites for the Reaper's Bones.
