Signal Flares are a Resource item that can be fired from Cannons to create a bright beacon visible from afar. Currently Signal Flares can be found in either red or white.
Signal Flares will take a few seconds to launch after being set off by the player due to their long fuse. Lit Signal Flares cannot be cancelled, but this short period might allow players to readjust their shot. When fired, the flare will travel a certain distance before remaining stationary in the air for approximatively 40 seconds before burning out. Burning flares will illumate the immediate area with a bright light, which can be used to light up dark zones at night with both hands free from cumbersome Lanterns.
Flares occupy their own inventory space, which allows the player to carry up to 10 units.
Where to find
- Every Ship will start with a small stock of Signal Flares of both colors which can be found in each Cannonball Barrel.
- Found across the Sea of Thieves in Barrels, Rowboats and Storage Crates.
Types
There are two types of Signal Flares, each with a unique appearance:
