The Spyglass is an Equipment Item in Sea of Thieves. It allows a player to zoom in on distant areas.

Usage[]

Every Player Pirate will receive a Spyglass during their Maiden Voyage, which they can use at any time during their adventures on The Sea of Thieves. The Spyglass can be accessed from the Equipment Radial Menu. It only has one interaction: to take a look at distant horizons, landmarks and objects. The Cosmetic design of the Player's Spyglass can be switched at Equipment Chests. These designs can be purchased from Equipment Shops and only change the visual appearance of the Spyglass. Players can check out their own Spyglass in 3rd person view with the Slippery Spyglass Emote, which is available for purchase from the Pirate Emporium for Ancient Coins.

The Spyglass has an unique interaction with Skeleton Ships and Trading Company Emissary Ships. Whenever a Player looks at either of these on the Seas, a specific tune will play to help the player discern whether the Ship is a Skeleton or a Player Ship and if it is sailing a specific Emissary Flag.

When a Player uses the Spyglass, the lens of the glass will reflect Sun or Moonlight with a bright white glint. This will reveal the Player's location to anyone who is looking their way. The lens of the Scope of an Eye of Reach works the same way.
