The Storage Crate the Damned is a ghostly type of Resource Crate dropped by Ghost Ships. These Crates act identically to Storage Crates.
A special Tall Tale exclusive variant, the Crate of the Dark Brethren, can be found during the 
Lords of the Sea Tall Tale.
Where to find[]
Storage Crates of the Damned can be found from the following sources:
- During Ghost Ship Voyages
- Occasionally dropped by defeated Grunt Ghost Ships
- 1 guaranteed for defeating a Ghost Flagship
- During Ghost Fleets
- Occasionally dropped by defeated Grunt Ghost Ships
- 1 guaranteed for defeating an Ashen Dragon Ghost Ship
- 1 guaranteed for defeating the Burning Blade
- During Legend of the Veil voyages.
- 2 crates per minor Ghost Garrison emplacements after sieging.
- May also be dropped by defeated Ghost Ships.
Storage[]
Storage Crates of the Damned can store any Resource that regular Storage Crates would, with 16 inventory slots that can hold up to 100 of a single Resource (total of 1600).
Storage Crates of the Damned dropped by Ghost Ships are loaded with a handful of Cannonballs, Wooden Planks and Fruit.
Rewards[]
A Storage Crate of the Damned can be sold (unlike a regular Storage Crate). The Resources inside do not affect the reward and will be lost when sold.
Storage Crates of the Damned can be sold to:
- Merchant Alliance Senior Traders stationed at the docks of Outposts for Gold and Merchant Alliance Reputation and Emissary Value (if sailing as a Merchant Alliance Emissary)
- The Servant of the Flame at The Reaper’s Hideout for Gold and Reaper's Bones Reputation and Emissary Value (if sailing as a Reaper's Bones Emissary)

Notes[]
- Picking up and placing Resource Crates on a Ship for the first time gives Emissary Grade Reputation to Trading Company Emissaries representing the Merchant Alliance or Reaper's Bones.
- These Crates emit a green glow similar to Bounty Skulls.
- When a defeated Ghost Ship has Treasure on board, ghostly wraiths will circle around it to make the Treasure more visible.
- All Resource Crates can be caught with a Harpoon.
- Like Storage Crates, these Crates can be used as portable Barrels, however their green glow makes them much more visible.
