The Hoarder's Hunt is a Mystery set around the "ultimate treasure hunt". It was announced on May 2nd, 2023, starting at May 11th, 2023. A strange and unknown entity, H, will guide you along the journey, sending odd puzzles for pirates to solve and embark on their special voyages. All trying to be the first to open a new chest that is sitting aside each Gold Hoarder representative.
How it works[]
The mystery itself will last four weeks. By the start of each week, H will send you a puzzle for you to solve. According to the devs, they are "fiendish". After you solve a puzzle, you are enable to obtain one of the four hunt voyages available at Larinna's shop. By the time that all of the puzzles and pieces are put together, it will be a "all in race" at the shores of Sea of Thieves, with all the players fighting and finding their way to the final prize.
The puzzles[]
A skin of gold[]
The first puzzle that H sent to the pirates was called "The Skin of Gold". A strange letter talking about food, health and food storage. It was sent on the first day of the mystery (May 11th 2023). The ENGLISH version of the letter says:
"I trust you’ve seen my rules are SHAPED for Hoarders at their heart.
Just DON’T use COMMON PIRATES in your stead, and we can start!
First think of health and what you need to keep you fighting fit.
And FOODS that help survive both shot from gun and cutlass hit.
But there’s a DARK side to what we eat when time and life collude.
Old it becomes and rotten too, with scent of death imbued.
You must check in all the TIME. What if it’s now no good?
Be it PIG in PEN or FRUIT that’s stored in tuneless DRUMS of wood.
PICTURES paint a thousand WORDS – or so some artists say.
You must seek to LINK the two. Now hurry on your way!"

A Feathered Fortune[]
Before I sinned, I’d sit in the TAVERN and sing shanties.
I’d eat BANANAS and watch the gulls float upon the breeze.
Then things changed, the Hoarder’s pet MACAW became my vengeful bane!
Ever since, fear’s driven me to spy these beasts through windowpane.
Their scratching claws, their pecking beaks, I cannot stand these BIRDS!
But understand that secrets lie within their chosen WORDS.

Prizes[]
Since it is the ultimate treasure hunt, players are fighting for real world rewards!
- First Place: The first place will be awarderd with a full realistic Gold Hoarder's skull replica paired with four golden keys at his mouth for them to share with their crewmates and friends.
- Second Place: The 10th second places will recieve exclusive Silver Keys.
- Third Place: For the 100th third places, they will recieve a Reaper's Mark Medallion.
Along with these real world prizes, there were in-game titles & trinkets such as a bullion crown & a replica gold hoarder skull
